Hawks and Falcons : I am fascinated by these birds. When I first got into photography, I envisioned myself getting that killer shot of a pair of mallards pitching into a pristine marsh. I still want that shot, but I have found that nothing gets my heart beating like the chance to capture a raptor.

Other Birds : Here some birds that don't fit in my other galleries. There are a few zoo shots in here (all indicated), but the majority of these birds were captured "in habitat". I'm especially happy to have the ability to photograph small birds right outside my front door. I never thought I'd pay much so attention to finches, sparrows, flickers, etc...

Fishing El Dorado National Forest with Dad : Another memorable outdoor adventure with Dad...This little creek runs through El Dorado National Forest. My Dad used to fish here when he was a kid, and at age 61, he decided it was time to return. The terrain into, along, and out of the canyon was highly challenging. I was proud of the way he ate it up. The fishing was tough due to the growth around the creek, but we caught and released several little trout. To be honest, it was not really about the fish; I think anyone who has shared similar experiences afield with their father knows what I am saying. It was a great outing during which I would have taken more photos had my camera not temporarily crapped out. I may go back with a tripod and a better (SLR) camera. Of course, I'll be waiting for the leg cramps to wear off first. Thanks Dad for another great adventure in the outdoors!
